How is it possible these criminals were re-elected by claiming to protect us when they are so grossly incompetent in everything they touch?

    Don Hagen, NJ - Sat, 11/03/2007 - 5:52pm

Iraq HAD nothing to do with terrorism. It certainly does now - we have created a breeding/training ground in Iraq.
Iraq - which is a grab for their oil - was sold under false pretenses that Saddam was an imminent threat to us. THAT is my point.
Using an army - even the best in the world - against an enemy where you can't identify friend from foe is futile. Vietnam taught me that - some haven't learned the same lesson.

    Don Hagen, NJ - Mon, 11/05/2007 - 6:07pm

I bristle when I hear that - I think Condescending Rice first came up with that gem of false logic

    Don Hagen, NJ - Wed, 11/07/2007 - 5:21pm

    You wrote:
"I do not remember any one blaming all this on the president or running down our country. They all taught me that the only one to blame for not doing right or obeying the law was ME."
That was true then. What do we do now when we have a president who doesn't obey the law? Presidents who lie to us? Congress for sale.
We really do have a lot wrong in this country now - it isn't unpatriotic to point out what's wrong and try to correct it, I think it's unpatriotic to know what's wrong and say it's okay.

You sure make it all sound so simple Carlton, give me ANY solid evidence that what you are proposing for our country will work, I will be happy to read it.

What bewilders me is your strong belief in our Constitution but you don't care that GWB/Cheney have led us to war by subverting the Constitution you (and I) hold sacred. I posted information about it in that forum. It is clearly stated in the Constitution just what the President and what the Congress are allowed to do when it comes to offensive attacks, or beginning war against foreign nations.

Our Founding Fathers? George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are making them roll over in their graves.

Just say NO! to drugs. (that's a joke)

I have no idea what your rant was about. It is apparently directed toward me, but I haven't a clue what you were trying to say, except that I think you feel my pointing out what's wrong is, in itself, somehow wrong?
Let me tell you outright - I LOVE MY COUNTRY.
It disgusts me that chicken hawks dare hide behind the flag while they gut our government for profit.
You can't fix problems if you pretend they don't exist.
If you think we are winning in Iraq, I know of a bridge for sale...

You've inspired me, Corbin, to write another article that will once and for all make it abundantly clear how nonsensical and DANGEROUS in a democracy it is for people to be unable to distinguish between dislike, disgust, or even hatred of their elected officials, and love of their country.

I don't see why it's so hard to get that. But, I'll keep on doing what I can to restore COMMON SENSE to my fellow countrymen.

    Don Hagen, NJ - Sat, 11/24/2007 - 7:16pm

Next time, before you hit "submit", show what you've typed to someone else and ask them to read it.
Then, listen to their advice in changing it.
I cannot understand what it is you are trying to say, except you seem to think things are fine the way they are, yet you seem to have a lot of anger, but it isn't clear what you're angry about.
Things don't improve if you think there is no room for improvement.

    Don Hagen, NJ - Sun, 11/25/2007 - 6:19am

We do need to address terrorism, but Bush and Chicken Cheney haven't.

Why are you on this site?

You don't seem to feel there's a need for change - everything's fine with you.
I want Ron Paul, Dennis Kucinich, Joe Biden, Colin Powell, Richardson,.... the media is pushing Hillary, Giuliani - you can have them.

    Samuel Saltman, NJ - Mon, 11/26/2007 - 6:06am

You are not interested in debate. You do nothing but repeat the same tired accusations. You do not answer any question posed to you. You NEVER speak in SPECIFICS, but keep blurting out anti-liberal slogans.

Real Americans? I am REAL. Speak to me. But YOU won't. You prefer to speak to yourself only. And that's all you've done since you've posted here.

    So why be here? Leave.

    Don Hagen, NJ - Mon, 11/26/2007 - 5:43pm

Carlton, do you read what you type?
You contradict yourself. It is Bush who won't let returning caskets be witnessed, it is he who edits reports of generals and drives out generals (Zinni, Shinseki,...) who dared to speak truth.
You claim you represent the majority. I can tell you listen to Bill O'Really? on Fixed "News". Ever hear of a Fox reporter? CNN has reporters in Iraq - Fox finds it easier to just take talking points from the White House or make stuff up.

You accuse us of not having solutions - there are many ideas offered on this site - just look. You can stick with Bush and coward Cheney - the rest of us see that "stay the course" isn't working.

You accuse us of just complaining - you have not offered one idea or one candidate. Look in the mirror.

    Same accusations.

Still not answering any questions posed.

    No specifics.

    Anti-liberal slogans.

    Baseless assumptions.

    POT CALLING THE KETTLE BLACK.

If Corbin doesn't abide by the traditional laws of civilized debate, then why the f*ck should we waste our time conversing with him?

Let him live in his tiny hole. He's obviously happy there.

    Maureen Romilly, WA - Mon, 11/26/2007 - 8:26pm

Hon, Samuel, for all you know Corbin is with Blackwater, or it might be Bill O' himself, you know after a little drinkie or two, a bit bored. Corbin's debating style is certainly just as boring, predictable and belligerent at Bill O', and just about as intelligent so it isn't a big stretch. You don't know who he is or what is motivating him, it surely ain't sanity. Don't waste energy or lose any sleep over him. If anything that is what makes him happy.

    Don Hagen, NJ - Sat, 12/01/2007 - 8:25pm

Either we're dealing with an internet troll, or one several cans shy of a full six-pack. Either way, rational discussion isn't possible, so I won't waste my time.
